Privacy Policy

Overview

PinnedMemories turns the photos already on your iPhone into a personal travel passport — a world map, country stamps, and travel statistics. Everything the app does happens locally, on your device. There is no user account, no cloud sync, and no server that PinnedMemories operates or sends your data to.

Information the app may access

PinnedMemories only requests the permissions it needs for the features you actually use:

• Photos and photo metadata (location and date) — only if you grant access, used to detect which countries, cities and places you've visited. Photos and their metadata are analyzed on-device and never leave your iPhone.
• Location — only when you tap "Locate me" on the map, used once to center the map on your current position. Not stored, not tracked in the background, not transmitted anywhere.
• Camera — only to scan a friend's QR code for the friend-comparison feature. No photo or video is captured or saved.
• Notifications (optional) — for "On this day" style memory reminders, generated and scheduled entirely on your device.

How information is used

• To detect and display visited countries, cities, regions and trips from your own photo library
• To power the map, passport stamps, and statistics screens
• To let you compare your travel history with a friend, shared directly device-to-device via a file or QR code — no server involved
• To remember your preferences (onboarding progress, home country, settings) locally on your device

No tracking, no analytics

PinnedMemories does not use any analytics or advertising SDKs, does not track you across other apps or websites, and does not collect an advertising identifier (IDFA). We have no way of knowing how many people use the app, how they use it, or who they are — the app simply doesn't send anything back to us.

Data sharing

Since PinnedMemories does not collect or transmit personal data, there is nothing to share or sell. Your memories, passport data, and settings stay in the app's local storage on your device. Like any app, your data may be included in your own iPhone backups (iCloud or computer backups you control) — PinnedMemories itself does not sync anything to iCloud or any other service.

In-app purchase

Pinned Memories Pro is an optional, one-time in-app purchase handled entirely by Apple's App Store and StoreKit. PinnedMemories does not receive or store your payment details.

Third-party services

If you join the TestFlight beta, Apple's TestFlight service may collect basic diagnostic and crash data according to Apple's own policies — that's part of Apple's infrastructure for any beta, not something PinnedMemories adds. The public App Store release does not include any additional analytics or tracking beyond what's described above.

Your choices

• You can decline photo, location, camera, or notification access — the app will simply skip the related feature (for example, without photo access it can't detect your travel history automatically)
• Because there's no account and no server copy of your data, deleting the app deletes your data
• You can contact support if you have privacy-related questions
